Michael Paul Gilliam
A Celebration of Life service for Michael Paul Gilliam, 69, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Gilliam passed away at 10:50 a.m., Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Ozarks Medical Center.
He was born October 31, 1948, at West Plains, Missouri, to Cecil S. Gilliam and Jeanne Riggs Gilliam. Mr. Gilliam attended Liberty High School, Liberty, Missouri. On September 9, 1983, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Joyce Daily, who preceded him in death on July 30, 1992. Mr. Gilliam was a longtime resident of Walnut Grove Apartments and was very active within that Community. He was also involved with the West Plains Chapter of Missouri Council of the Blind. Mr. Gilliam was a very selfless and giving person; he would help anyone in need and adopted families at Christmas time and provided for many children’s back-to-school needs.
He is survived by two children, Pam Simpson and husband, Randy Spencer and Mark Gregory; one brother, Sam Gilliam; one sister, Gay Juarez and husband, John; one brother-in-law, Carl Daily; two nieces and one nephew, Lexie Bourgoin, Jimmy Smith and Tina Daily; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
His parents and his wife preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. A private burial will be at a later date at New Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Missouri Council of the Blind and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mike has been an example of unconditional love and acceptance all my life. I told him many times that I want to grow up to be just like him. He is already missed deeply.
