Nora Taylor Bench
Graveside services for Nora Taylor Bench, 91, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldridge, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bench died at 8:38 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2013, at Brooke Haven Health Care.
She was born April 2, 1922, at Koshkonong, Missouri, to Vernie Clay Johnston and Minnie May Madden Johnston. On September 28, 1940, she was married to Oren Alva Taylor, who preceded her in death on November 8, 1982. On February 28, 1987, she was married at Tulare, California, to Lawrence (Larry) Bench, who preceded her in death on January 25, 1989. Mrs. Bench worked as a nurses aide and had operated Wonderland Daycare for several years. She loved to play the piano in church. Mrs. Bench had been a member of Calvary General Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence Eddie Taylor, Lower Lake, California; one step-daughter, Joyce Wallis, Tulare, California; two grandchildren, Lora Jones and Marilyn “Suzy” Taylor; three step-grandchildren, Kenny Dearmore, Timmy Dearmore and Mickey Bench; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including, Vicky Guffey, husband, Clinton and Wayne Jones; and special friend, Ann Zimmerman, West Plains, Missouri.
Her parents, husbands, daughter-in-law, Sandra Lee Taylor, one great-grandchildren; step-son, Darrell Bench, step-daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bench, three sisters, Marilyn, Lola and Lillie and two brothers, Virgil and Ralph, precede her in death.

I had the pleasure of caring for Miss Nora in her last months on this earth. She was a sweet lady and everyone adored her. She is missed tremendously.
