A private graveside service for Norma Jeanne Wagoner, of West Plains, was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2022, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Pastor David Ball presided. She was laid to rest next to her husband, Dixon Edward Wagoner, whom she married on August 8, 1948.
Mrs. Wagoner died Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 93. She had been an invalid at West Vue Nursing Center for several years.
Known by her middle name, Jeanne, Mrs. Wagoner was born on December 12, 1928, to Olive May (Hunter) Kentner and Fred Earl Kentner. She was the loving mother of two daughters, Dianne Martin and husband, Frank L. Martin III, of Peace Valley, and Dixi Jensen and husband, Howard Jensen, of Galena. She was the grandmother of Traci Wright, Fordland, and John Michael Melvin and wife, Brook, Olathe, Kansas. Mrs. Wagoner had four great-grandchildren: Zack Wright, Springfield; Ali Wright, Marshfield; and Brady and Baylee Melvin, Olathe, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Kathryn Piper, and a brother, Kenneth E. Kentner. Mrs. Wagoner loved the Lord, her family, her church, her friends, and her country, and was thankful for every blessing she received in life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Plains.
