Paula Kay Haan
Graveside services for Paula Kay Haan, 70, Springfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Union Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Ms. Haan passed away peacefully to her Lord at 8:40 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 7, 1947, at West Plains, Missouri, to Paul Robinson and Lena Martin Robinson. Paula earned a nursing degree and began helping others as a Registered Nurse at St. John’s Mercy Hospital and most recently as an aide to disabled adults; she retired just three months before falling ill. Paula was a strong willed angel of God who fought her illness head on as she did everything in life. She also worked as a human resource coordinator at Green Giant, Ingersoll and Sunstrand. She enjoyed baking and was overjoyed to make flower arrangements for her two daughters’ weddings; Paula always had amazing flower beds. Paula also enjoyed going to flea markets and looking for antiques; a hobby that she loved so much that she managed an antique store for a time. Ms. Haan was a selfless person, in addition to her nursing career, she volunteered time in homeless shelters and women’s facilities in the Springfield area, especially around holidays.
She is survived by her mother, Lena Robinson, West Plains, Missouri; three children, Mary Elizabeth Kiefer and husband, Michael, Belvidere, Illinois, Marc D. May and wife, Pamela, White Oak, Georgia and Deborah Conklin and husband, T. K., Springfield, Missouri; she was Nana to six grandchildren, Meghean Alexandra May, Ryan Michael Sheetz, Justin Dillon May and wife, Samantha, Amanda Kay Spurlock and husband, Matt, Nicholas Robert Hallberg and Corrigan K. Conklin; G-Nana to ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Harris and husband, Ronnie; one brother, Bob Robinson; and several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, including Paula Sharp.
Her father, one great-grandson, Kaiden and one brother, Dale Robinson, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony House and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
