Peggy Sue Davidson
Funeral services for Peggy Sue Davidson, 61, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at Central Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davidson died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born August 13, 1952 at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Hester Hasseltine Shrable Pendergrass and the late Roy Lester Pendergrass. On June 14, 1969, she was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Darrell Ricky Davidson. Peggy and Rick were faithful members of the Central Church of Christ in West Plains, Missouri. Through God’s hand and her strong faith, Peggy acquired her love for life and spiritual things.
Peggy received her education from South Fork and West Plains R-VII School District. As an adult she was wife, mother, and housewife first and later entered the work force. She owned the Fashion Crossroads ladies clothing store and later joined her husband as managers for Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant in West Plains, Missouri for many years. She spent her final years being employed by the West Plains Middle School. She loved her Middle School Zizzer family and the special children as she frequently referred to them.
Peggy truly loved life and her walk with God and her church family. She also loved her immediate family as well as all the extended family. Family gatherings, holidays and outings were so important to her. Precious time for Peggy also included the time spent with her mother. They gardened together and made weekly trips to town buying groceries, shopping and eating out. Her love for her husband and their “Big Springs Farm” dominated her life. She so enjoyed their drives through the fields looking at the trees, flowers and checking the livestock. She frequently referred to their home as “God’s Creation” and how blessed they were to live in such a beautiful place. She waited anxiously for all holidays to spend family time with her children and grandchildren. They loved to play in the creek, take grandmother walks and spend endless hours playing checkers. Peggy loved to get up early, drink her coffee, work crossword puzzles and look out at the beautiful scenery.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Ricky Davidson, of the family home; one daughter, Laura Sue Davidson Brauhn and husband, Dan, Ottumwa, Iowa; one son, Richard Melton Davidson and wife, Kristin, Caulfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michal Sue Brauhn, Isbella Brauhn and Shelby Davidson; her mother, Hester Hasseltine Pendergrass, Bakersfield, Missouri; two brothers, R.A. Pendergrass and wife, Connie, Bakersfield, Missouri and Larry Pendergrass and wife, Carol, Caulfield, Missouri; four sisters, Helen Harber and husband, Russell, Springfield, Missouri, June Campbell and husband, Joe, Raymore, Missouri, Joy Holloway and husband, Dan, West Plains, Missouri and Cathy Baird and husband, Jackie, Rogersville, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Virgie Holmes, Gamaliel, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Linda McGahan and husband, John, Gamaliel, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Steve Holmes and special friend, Cindy, Yellville, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Her father, baby brother, Roye Kenneth and fathers-in-law, Claude Davidson and Wayne Holmes, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Big Springs Cemetery.
Because of Peggy’s love for children and life itself, the family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Paragould Children’s Home, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Davidson & Pendergrass family. I loved Peggy from the time we were old enough to walk & talk, and when we were grown we did not see each other but maybe once a year but it was just like talking to her from a few days before. I will miss her very, very much, Love Cousin Doris

Rick there is no way I can know just how you feel as I have not been through it, but just want you to know I feel your sorrow and pray for you and the family continually.
Hasseltine, You Have our deepest sympathy. We know this is not the normal process we expect in life but I know without a doubt you have been a pillar of strength and the example God wants you to be for your family. We will continue to pray for you and the entire family.
To Laura and Richard I can relate to your pain and just want you to know the hurt you feel now will ease as time goes on and it will gradually be replaced by the happy memories that you share.
To all the brothers and sisters, you’ve grown along with Peggy and will always remember the things you have shared. This grief will get lighter with time and you too will remember the happy moments.
With all our love to a great family,
Frank and Betty

Rick, Laura and Richard, I am so sad to hear about Peggy’s passing. She and I have often wished for the “good ole days” at Fashion Crossroads. We so often spoke of trying that adventure again. I love Peggy and will miss her greatly. I have no words to share with you that will comfort you, but to say that I know God will give you the grace and strength to help you through the days to come.
Peggy has been a blessing to all of us in different ways. You were all very dear to her heart and not a single person could measure up to you in her eyes. You have her legacy to sustain you. I love you all and will be praying for you.
