Ralph Morgan Crutchfield
Ralph Morgan Crutchfield, 91, West Plains, Missouri, died at 2:40 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Ozarks Medical Center.
He was born December 11, 1921, at Herbine, Arkansas, to George Henry Crutchfield and Bertha Maude Morgan Crutchfield. On March 19, 1946, he was married at Yuma, Arizona, to Genevieve Pearl Canedy, who preceded him in death on September 21, 2012. Mr. Crutchfield was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Coast Guard on the USS LST 66 in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Campaign and South Pacific North Atlantic. He was on the first ship hit by a Japanese suicide plane in Leyte Philippine Island. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the civil service and at the Ammunition Depot at Seal Beach, California. After retirement, he went into real estate.
He is survived by four children, Richard Crutchfield, wife, Marsha, Terry Crutchfield, wife, Nancy, Brenda Nichols, husband Frank and Karen Hubbell, husband, Wayne; eight grandchildren, Keri Licon, Kelli Christensen, husband, Justin, Chad Hubbell, wife, Angela, Cory Hubbell, wife, Elaine, Lisa Ramsey, husband, Marc, Jennifer Jensen, husband, Justin, Travis Crutchfield and Devin Crutchfield; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Charles Canedy, wife, Dorothy and Oren Canedy; sister-in-law, Doris Canedy; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife, one sister, Nora Crutchfield, three brothers, Elbert, Wilbert (Toy) and Olen (Buddy) Crutchfield, precede him in death.
