Raymond Mayfield
A Memorial Service for Raymond Mayfield, 82, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Mayfield passed away at 8:15 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born September 19, 1935, at Trail, Missouri, to Charles Green Mayfield and Mildred Womack Mayfield. On July 14, 2014, he was married at Springdale, Arkansas, to Myra Bush. Mr. Mayfield was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force for twenty years; he was a Vietnam veteran and worked for sixteen years for the Department of Defense.
He is survived by his wife, Myra Mayfield, of the family home; three children, Dr. Samuel Mayfield and wife, Jeannie, Alexandria, Louisiana, Dr. Charles Mayfield and wife, Melissa, West Monroe, Louisiana and Dr. Greg Mayfield and wife, Julie, West Monroe, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Olivia Herold and husband, Dr. Ryan Herold, Lisa Taylor, and husband, Dr. Conrad Taylor, Kylie McIntosh and husband, Thomas, Taylor Mayfield, Justin Mayfield and wife, Natalie and Kyle Mayfield; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; two step-children, Sheila Killion and husband, Kole and Harvey Rainbolt and wife, Robyn; five step-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Mayfield, Lynn Mayfield and wife, Carol and James Mayfield; three sisters, Loretta Jinson, Joyce Stewart and husband, David and Reta Langston and husband, Neal; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, first wife, Dolores Mayfield and two brothers, Jackie and Preston Mayfield, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
