Richard Blaine Thompson
Graveside services for Richard Blaine Thompson, 68, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson died 5:25 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home.
He was born January 24, 1947 at Olden, Missouri to George Boone Thompson and Delilah Blanche Brower Thompson. He graduated from the West Plains High School with the Class of 1964 where he was a noted athlete. On April 29, 1967, he was married at the Pomona Christian Church to Brenda Brown and to this union were two children, Richard B. Thompson, Jr. and Tina Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Before his retirement, he was in the car business for forty-one years having been a salesman at Brad Guffey Motors, Inc. Mr. Thompson was an avid horseman, was a life time member of the Missouri Fox Trotters Horse Breed Association, spending every year either showing, judging or watching the annual celebration, as well as visiting with old friends. He loved playing cards, enjoyed watching sports, especially Cardinal baseball and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Thompson was of the Christian faith and on April 20, 2015, Richard and Brenda rededicated their faith.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Thompson, of the family home; two children, Richard Thompson, Jr., wife, Shawn, Branson, Missouri and Tina Thompson, Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Audrey Thompson, Blaine Thompson and Trenton Lovan, wife, Mia; one brother, Norman Eugene Thompson, wife, Donna, Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Kathy Hollingshad, husband, Guy and Wanda Heselton, all of West Plains, Missouri; father-in-law, Carl Brown, West Plains, Missouri; brother-in-law, Leon Brown, wife, Rose, Brandsville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Linda and Donnie Daugherty.
His parents, two brothers, George Alvin Thompson and Robert Wayne Thompson, mother-in-law, Fanny Brown and one brother-in-law, Alvin Heselton, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 28th, at the Langston Street Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the OMC Cancer Treatment Center Building Expansion and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss. I pray you find comfort in God’s promise for the future when death will be no more (Revelation 21:4) and when he fulfills his promise of returning our loved ones to life (John 5:28, 29).
