Richard Lee Mercer
A Celebration of Life Service for Richard Lee Mercer, 65, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Cornerstone Family Worship Church.
Mr. Mercer died at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born October 10, 1948, at Valley Park, Missouri, to Esco Arthur Mercer and Pauletta Tredway Mercer. On June 22, 1973, he was married at Sullivan, Missouri, to Sheryl Johnson. Mr. Mercer worked on the electric and sanitation crew for the City of West Plains and after his retirement from the City, he went to work at the West Plains Armory. He enjoyed having coffee with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Mercer, of the family home; one daughter, Laurie Graham, husband, Terry, West Plains; and four grandchildren, Lacey, Bailey, Riley and Sophie.
His parents and one brother precede him in death.

So sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. Will keep your family in our prayers. We worked with Richard at Regal-Beloit and bought a little white car from him for our daughter. He was a good man and a joy to talk to.

So sorry to hear that Richard has passed. I’ve known Richard for many years having lived near him and his family many years ago in the late 80’s and running into him several times in the community years later. He was always witty and had something good to say. I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile or something interesting to say which usually made me laugh. He will be missed.
