Robert Hayden (Bob) Yancey
Funeral services for Robert Hayden (Bob) Yancey, 86, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2012 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Yancey died 5:45 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 in West Vue Nursing Center. He was born August 28, 1926 near Oxford, Arkansas to Maxey Worthel Yancey and Mahaley Ethel Ann McVey Yancey. On October 1, 1947, he was married at Melbourne, Arkansas to Vernice Harris. Mr. Yancey was a well-known carpenter having built many homes in the West Plains area. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vernice Yancey, of the family home; three children, Donald L. Yancey, wife, Diane, Hendersonville, North Carolina, Donna J. Bridges, husband, Philip, West Plains, Missouri, and Jo Verhelle, husband, Tim, Redlands, California; four grandchildren, Holly Ford, Memphis, Tennessee, Hillary Hunt, Bryant, Arkansas, Bryan Verhelle, Detroit, Michigan and Jennifer Glaze, Redlands, California; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Hobert Yancey, Brewster, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
His father, mother, who died when he was sixteen, step-mother, Verna E. (Dillard) Yancey, who was an important part of the family until her death, seven brothers and four sisters, precede him in death.
Mr. Yancey will lie in state from 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2nd until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
