Robert Verne “Bob” Winkler, Jr.
Graveside services for Robert Verne “Bob” Winkler, Jr., 61, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Cureall Cemetery.
Mr. Winkler died at 10:55 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born February 1, 1951, at Burlington, Iowa, to the late Robert Verne Winkler, Sr. and Carrie Lawing Winkler. Mr. Winkler graduated from West Plains Senior High School with the Class of 1968. On December 1, 1967, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Linda Roll, and to this union, one daughter, Deena, was born. On November 12, 1974, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Debbie Doseff, to this union, four children were born, Melissa, Christina, Robert and Michael. Mr. Winkler was a self-employed mechanic and had worked at Marathon Electric for eighteen years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Mr. Winkler was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by three children, Deena Kabler, husband, Barry, Sedalia, Missouri, Melissa Winkler, significant other, Brandon Hicks and Christina Blair, husband, Brad, all of West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kasey Kabler, Lasey Kabler, Tyler Lewis, Jayden Lewis, Shayden Lewis, Ashley Blair and C. B. Blair; one sister, April Bandy, husband, Alan, Willow Springs; three nieces, Karma Bandy, Krista Hendrix and Kari Bandy.
His parents and two sons, Robert Vern Winkler and Michael James Winkler, precede him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cureall Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
