Ron and I worked with Mr. Longnecker at West Plains R-VII for many, many years. He was an excellent teacher and co-worker. I can still remember very clearly my first day of employment in May of 1989, I went to the teachers lounge, at that time a very tiny room with a table and soda machine, and he told me that It was the secretary’s job to bring a cake to the lounge every week. He was a very devoted teacher and friend. I am so sorry for this loss. Praying for all family and friends during this sad time, and praying the memories of his devotion, sense of humor and kindness will help us through.

I am so sorry for the family to lose such a wonderful & special person. I got to spend time with Ron when I was in high school. Though he wasn’t my teacher, he let me hang out in his classroom when thing were slow in our auto tech class. Hearing his stories and joking around with him really helped me through that year in school. I was dealing with a lot at home and he was definitely a bright spot for my day. Know that he will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. My heart is with you all during this time.

So sorry for your loss. We shared class together in grade school at the age of 10 and 11, but I knew him and his family long after that. We lived in Brandsville for years and several of his and my family are buried at Union Hill. The dinners on decoration day was a time for families to get together at Union Hill at this time. Prayers for the family.

Tammy, and the entire family & friends of Mr. Longnecker, as you gather today, I hope you all keep the wonderful memories that have been shared and celebrate the life of a very special man. I remember that I would pass him in going to my class in South Central, and he always spoke and had a smile to share if he didn’t. I know that he changed the life of many people in the community over the years as he taught them the ways to help them to be successful and to the best. I know that letting go of a special father is not easy, but you can rest assured that he is no longer suffering and has been renewed.
Hugs and prayers to you.
