Rosalie Geraldine Hunter
Funeral services for Rosalie Geraldine Hunter, 103, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hunter died at 7:20 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born September 1, 1910, at LeMars, Iowa, to John P. Wurth and Mary Heissel Wurth. On July 8, 1927, she was married at LeMars, Iowa, to Lisle Sexton, who preceded her in death in 1971. On January 26, 1973, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Earle Melvin Hunter, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1995. Before her retirement, she worked as a Dietician at West Plains Memorial Hospital, now known as Ozarks Medical Center. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and served as Chaplain for fifty years. Mrs. Hunter was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Billie Whelchel, Randy Hawkins, wife, Mary Jo, Connie Hawkins and Kathy Ledbetter, husband, Danny, all of West Plains, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, James Dunnihoo, Randy R. Hawkins, wife, DeWana, Brian Hawkins, Dustin L. Hawkins, wife, Ashley, Corey Ledbetter and Jeremy Ledbetter; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; two step-daughters, Betty Bennett, husband, Cal and Joan Pate, all of State of California; several step-grandchildren, of the State of California; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husbands, one daughter, Marcella “Sally” Hawkins, son-in-law, Forrest “Bill” Hawkins and nine brothers and sisters, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Auxiliary, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
