Roy Mitchell

Funeral services for Roy Mitchell, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Mitchell died at 2:15 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.

He was born November 17, 1928, at Londale, Missouri, to Marion Mitchell and Bertha North Mitchell.  On August 20, 1955, he was married at Hernando, Mississippi to Betty Jo Adkins.  Mr. Mitchell operated a thrift store and concession stand.  He was a collector of many things, enjoyed growing flowers, and was an avid Cardinals’ fan.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  Mr. Mitchell was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Mitchell, of the family home; one son, Jerry Mitchell, Brooklyn, New York; one brother, Herbert Mitchell, Dundee, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, one sister and two brothers precede him in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Amy Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Amy Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
