Shirley Jane Martin
Graveside services for Shirley Jane Martin, 81, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2019 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olden, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martin passed away at 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at her home.
She was born February 20, 1938, at Arno, Virginia, to James Wiley Franks and Loretta Messer Franks. On June 29, 1956, she was married in Boone County, Indiana, to George Okal “Oak” Martin, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 29, 20 15. Before her retirement, Shirley was a caseworker with Division of Family Services and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Martin was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Cherie DeShazo and husband, Guy; four grandchildren, Jacob Acklin, Ben DeShazo, Lucas DeShazo and Ashlea Acklin; two great-grandchildren, Quentin and Landen Rockwell; and one sister, Barbara Stevens and husband, Don, Booneville, Missouri.
Her parents, husband and one daughter, Lisa Martin, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Martin will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Food Bank and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
