Truman Romans
Graveside services for Truman Romans, 89, San Antonio, Texas, formerly of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Romans passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018.
He was born April 14, 1928, at West Plains, Missouri, to Granville Franklin Romans and Velma Bessie Bolderson Romans. Mr. Romans was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean War and received a Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of the West Plains Friends of the Library organization and was known as “The Bookman” because of his passion to read books and the Bible every day.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Strub and husband, John, San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; two sisters, Veda Romans and Lydia Girdley, both of West Plains, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, daughter, Beth Romans, son, David Romans and two brothers, Doyle and Vernie Romans, preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Plains Public Library and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
