Velma Esther Kingsolver
Funeral services for Velma Esther Kingsolver, 78, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2019 at Fowler Chapel Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kingsolver passed away at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born March 2, 1940, at Lockland, Ohio, to Daniel Roosevelt Pugh and Lula Barker Pugh. On September 28, 1963, she was married at Clarksville, Ohio, to Robert Allen Kingsolver, Sr., who preceded her in death on July 21, 2016. She loved having her family near and enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music and keeping score at horseshoes. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary at Bakersfield, Missouri. Mrs. Kingsolver was a member of Fowler Chapel Church.
She is survived by five children, Robert Allen Kingsolver, Jr., and wife, Brandy, Albany, Georgia, Patrick William Kingsolver and wife, Lori, Mount Orab, Ohio, John David Kingsolver and wife, Jamie, Caulfield, Missouri, Leah Dale Clapp and husband, Robert, Caulfield, Missouri and Chris Barclay Kingsolver and wife, Gere, Wichita, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, Christi Hacker, Shawn Kingsolver, Victoria Fowler, Sarah Kingsolver, Noah Kingsolver, Matthew Lau, Andrew Lau, Brandon Clapp, Ray Clapp, Kerry Rodriguez and Andra Herzog; eleven great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Chelsi, Kara, William, Elizabeth, Josiah, Sadie, Nichole, Shaun, Robby, Alyssa and a baby girl on the way; two sisters, Fern Carpenter and Norma Barnes; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl Pugh and Audrey Sallee; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Renee James and her children, Cortney and Brittney, Caulfield, Missouri.
Her parents, husband, five brothers and one sister, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Baptist Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Hill Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
