Funeral services for Vivian Alberta Bandy, 92, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bandy passed away at 4:35 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the home of her son, Douglas Bandy.
She was born May 30, 1920, at Peace Valley, Missouri, to Joseph Adam Broyles and Ethel Marie Bolin Broyles. On September 19, 1936, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Bandy at Which Church, Missouri and to this union four children were born: Ellis, Douglas, Shirley and Rick. Mrs. Bandy retired from St. Francis Hospital, Mountain View, Missouri in 1981 after serving as a “Gray Lady” and later as a dietician and later was a volunteer at the West Plains OMC Thrift Store for several years. She spent a large amount of time gardening and quilting and loved visiting with family and friends, often giving her delicious baked goods to neighbors and family. She was a very generous, loving and kind mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Bandy was affiliated with the Forest Dell Nondenominational Community Church, Mountain View, Missouri and we are sure that our great loss is heaven’s gain.
She is survived by three children, Douglas Bandy, wife, Alva, Shirley Gannon, husband, Don, all of West Plains, Missouri, and Rick Bandy, wife, Connie, Conway, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, David Bandy, Shelly Bandy, Nikki Baker, Dena Townsend, Tammy Davis, Cheryl Amos, Rhonda Rothermich, Kevin Bandy and Larry Bandy; nineteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gerri Bandy, Piedmont, Missouri; one brother, Bill Broyles, wife, Mary Jane, Willow Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Violet Sifford, husband, Pete, Prescott, Arizona and Bertie Woody, Jonesboro, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son, Ellis, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Alta Lee Woody and Mabel Sanders and two brothers, Oscar and Clifford Broyles, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Vivian was a very, sweet, loving and dear Aunt. I have very fond memories of her from when I was young and we lived next door. She will be greatly missed! I will be there on Sunday.
