Wayne Pettyjohn

Graveside services for Wayne Henry Edward Pettyjohn, 79, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 at New Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Pettyjohn passed away at 5:09 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home.

He was born August 1, 1937, at Peace Valley, Missouri, to Ollie Francis Pettyjohn and Maymie Ellen McFarland Pettyjohn.  Mr. Pettyjohn was a Veteran, having served with the United States Army.  On June 13, 1959, he was married at Peace Valley, to Lucille Davidson.  Mr. Pettyjohn worked hard to provide for his family through the years, including working at Southwest Truck Body, farming, fur trading and operating a sawmill.  He enjoyed playing cards, pool, being outdoors, gardening and coon hunting.  Mr. Pettyjohn was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Lucille Pettyjohn, of the family home; five children, Treena Blades and husband, Daniel, West Plains, Ellen Weaver, West Plains, Donna Ross and husband, Mike, Joplin, Missouri, Dwayne Pettyjohn and wife, Tresa, Peace Valley, Missouri and Sharon Pena and husband, Luis, Becker, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren, Catlen Chapman, Standon Pettyjohn and wife, Sara, Shane Pettyjohn and wife, Sonja, Courtney Weaver and fiancé, Lee Arthurs, Brandon Wood and wife, Charity, Jessica Wood, Leshia Pettyjohn and significant other, Rodney Wilson, Ryan Pettyjohn and wife, Diona, Austin Pena, Rachel Pena and Nichole Pena; ten great-grandchildren, Emma, Layne, Myles, Bryley, Andrew, Brayden, Angelyn, Hope, Adrian and Reaile; one brother, Junior Pettyjohn, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, one sister, Lois Morgan and one nephew, Mark Schultz, precede him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
